The 5th time! 10 portal cranes and 12 hoppers successfully relocated

Recently, with the last portal crane safely landed, the relocation project of 10 portal cranes and 12 hoppers by Shandong Port Equipment Group's Luhai Heavy Industry Company was successfully completed. This marks the fifth large-scale relocation project successfully implemented since the establishment of Shandong Port. For the first time, 10 MC-type 50t portal cranes, each weighing 700 tons, were relocated using sea barges from the Shijiu Port Area to the Lanshan Port Area of Rizhao Port. This method is not only safer and more stable but also significantly improves relocation efficiency.
The project was jointly implemented by the Equipment Group and Rizhao Port, involving 7 berths and 5 operating units from the first, second, and third joint-stock companies of Rizhao Port Group, the Lanshan Port Area, and Shandong Iron & Steel Company. A total of 5 safety education sessions were conducted on-site. In the preliminary phase, project managers assisted clients with equipment deregistration and relocation certificates, coordinated with the Rizhao Market Supervision Administration for construction notification procedures, and performed non-destructive testing on equipment lifting lugs. Staff members fulfilled their duties, meticulously planned technical schemes, and actively coordinated with relevant units at Rizhao Port, ship owners, floating crane operators, and maritime authorities. Through efficient coordination among these five parties, optimized processes, and continuous operations, the team fully utilized the shipping channel window, seizing gaps between container ship arrivals and departures to achieve seamless channel usage.
