Shandong Port Group strengthens connection with Dung Quat Shipyard in Vietnam (PVSM)

On July 29, 2026, a delegation from Shandong Port Group (SPG) visited and worked at Dung Quat Shipyard, under the Petroleum Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. (PVSM), in Quang Ngai province.
The visit served as an opportunity for representatives from both sides to meet, exchange information, and directly explore operational capabilities in shipbuilding, ship repair, marine engineering, and equipment for port operations.

Discussion on port equipment and marine engineering solutions
During the session, the delegation introduced several product lines and equipment solutions for port and maritime activities. Through the presentation, both sides had the opportunity to discuss lifting equipment, port cranes, and technical solutions applicable to shipbuilding and repair environments.
This activity aligns with the capabilities of the equipment division under Shandong Port Group. According to SPG's official introduction, the group's equipment unit operates in various fields such as container handling machinery, port cranes, bulk cargo handling equipment, shipbuilding and repair cranes, shipbuilding and repair, steel structures, and providing equipment solutions for the entire port logistics chain.
The exchange allowed both parties to better understand technical requirements, production capacities, and product groups that can support maritime industrial activities.
Exploring the capabilities of Dung Quat Shipyard
Following the working session, the delegation toured the production and ship repair areas at Dung Quat Shipyard.
PVSM is the successor to Dung Quat Shipbuilding Industry Company (DQS), established in 2006 and transferred to Petrovietnam for management in 2010. Currently, the company operates in the fields of new shipbuilding, ship repair, floating structures, and steel structures.

Strengthening connections in the maritime industry
Dung Quat Shipyard and the equipment division of Shandong Port Group have complementary operational areas, particularly regarding engineering, shipbuilding and repair, lifting equipment, steel structures, and port solutions. SPG stated that its equipment unit has the capacity to manufacture various types of cranes and port equipment, and has participated in the construction and repair of research vessels, dredgers, barges, crane ships, and tugboats.
In the context of the maritime industry increasingly focusing on equipment modernization, productivity improvement, and optimization of shipbuilding and repair operations, such visits and direct exchanges create conditions for businesses from both sides to share experiences and understand each other's needs.
