Shandong Port Group strengthens connectivity with Saigon Newport Corporation in port and logistics sectors

On July 28, 2026, a delegation from Shandong Port Group (SPG) visited and worked with Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP).

The program served as an opportunity for representatives from both sides to meet, exchange information, and enhance mutual understanding regarding port operations, logistics, maritime transport, and supply chain development. Saigon Newport Corporation is currently one of the leading port operators and logistics service providers in Vietnam, with a network of ports and logistics infrastructure spanning many regions across the country. In addition to port operations, the company provides road and waterway transport, warehousing, freight forwarding, and international logistics services.

Discussion on port operations and logistics

During the working session, representatives from both sides discussed port operations, logistics organization, and new development trends in the maritime industry.

Shandong Port Group was established in 2019, headquartered in Qingdao, and currently manages four major port groups including Qingdao Port, Rizhao Port, Yantai Port, and Bohai Bay Port. According to official information updated in August 2026, SPG operates 19 major port areas, over 380 production berths, and more than 370 container routes, while actively promoting its transformation from a traditional port operator to a comprehensive supply chain service provider.

With the experience of both SPG and SNP in the port sector, the working session facilitated the sharing of perspectives on improving operational efficiency, developing logistics systems, and strengthening connectivity between ports, customers, and supply chain links.

In recent years, the port industry has been shifting strongly towards digitalization, automation, and the development of integrated logistics solutions.

For SPG, building a comprehensive supply chain service system is one of its key development orientations. The group is expanding its logistics network, inland ports, and transport routes to increase connectivity between production, trade, and maritime ports.

Saigon Newport Corporation has also developed an ecosystem of services that is not limited to port operations but also includes transport, warehousing, freight forwarding, and logistics from ports to industrial zones, factories, and international markets.

Direct exchange helps representatives from both sides gain insights into each other's operating models, thereby creating conditions to share experiences in management, production organization, technology application, and improving customer service quality.

Continuing the foundation of exchange between SPG and Saigon Newport Corporation

SPG and Saigon Newport Corporation have had exchange activities in previous years. In February 2023, a Shandong Port Group delegation visited Vietnam and worked with Saigon Newport Corporation, where the two sides discussed green port development, maritime transport, trade, and expanding cooperation. SPG's Qingdao, Rizhao, and Yantai ports have also established transport routes connecting with the Saigon Newport system.

The working visit on July 28, 2026, continues to create conditions for the parties to strengthen exchanges, update new development orientations, and learn more about the needs of the Vietnam-China port and logistics market.
